Merry Christmas,,, a bit belated

Merry Christmas to all of you from one happy family. We are very proud to introduce Avery Lori. She came into the world on December 20th, 2005, weighing 9 lbs. 1.6 oz. and measuring 20 inches long. To say she has made us the happiest people on earth is an understatement. She is definitely the best Christmas present we ever could have received. We hope your holiday was as wonderful as ours was!

We're having a baby...

...tomorrow.

I go in for my scheduled induction tomorrow morning at 6:30am. I was so hoping to have this child make an appearance naturally but since it seems the little one is not wanting to cooperate we are evicting him or her without permission. I've been told the baby is quite large by the guess-timates so I feel pretty good about the induction. I have had many friends who have been induced and their births have went really well so I am trying to stay calm about the process of which I am about to go through. For those of you who don't know, tomorrow I will be five days overdue, which isn't that horrible, I just hope it isn't a sign of what's to come when this little one turns eighteen.

The entire family on both sides are here and ready to meet the newest family member so we are all very excited to know that tomorrow is the day. If there is one thing I am most sure about it's the fact that this child is going to be loved, loved, loved! I will post pictures as soon as humanly possible as I can't wait to share him or her with you all!

COME ON!!!!!!

I'm still pregnant,,, just thought you all should know. Or as my mother-in-law would say, "Y'all." My due date is tomorrow, the 15th and this baby is perfectly comfortable where it is. I went to the doctor's office today and had an ultrasound to check the amniotic fluid, which was perfect. I also had a non-stress test and that turned out perfect. Finally, I had my regular check-up which went, well,,, perfect. This baby is never coming out!!! Well, of course unless it doesn't come out by the 20th, which at that time we are forcing the little bugger out of it's nice, warm home. So either way,,, I'll be a mom by next Tuesday,,, which scares me more than the epidural. I'm going to be a mom,,, good Lord, I'm going to be a mom. I think my blood pressure just spiked.

Any Day Now

I'm officially 39 weeks pregnant today. For all my friends who gave birth early and assured me I would probably have had the baby by now,,, you all suck! I totally got my hopes up about having this baby a titch bit early and it looks like I have the uterus that just won't give. Personally, I think the baby can feel how cold it is outside and is thinking, "if you think I am coming out to that kind of weather you have another thing coming lady,,, I'm only coming out if we move to Hawaii!" Which by the way, I've totally thrown that idea by the hubby.

In honor of the imminent end of my pregnancy my sister took some pictures of me and 'The Belly.' It seems I went from not showing at all to being all belly in the last couple of weeks. View if you dare!

Disturbing Moment of the Day

I was driving to meet my sister and Janet for lunch today when I saw a sign stating, "Santa for Hire." I need to go get a picture but really the only thing I thought was, "How stupid is a human being for putting up that sign? Don't they know that Santa is real and can't be bought?" I'm sticking with the kids that believe in Good Old St. Nick on this one as he has already told me my wish for this child to be born before Christmas will be granted. If my wish doesn't come true Santa should watch his back!

B Squared

For those of you that have stated I have barely grown at all during this pregnancy I can now tell you that I am officially looking very pregnant. As Rob put it, "Wow, you are just all boobs and belly." Thanks. Yes, it's true but a pregnant woman doesn't need to hear it, I am very aware. I feel as though I am about to pop and I have now had my first weight gain of the pregnancy, 2 pounds total, but still down 24 so that's good. I am 38 weeks pregnant today and went to the doctor yesterday. For anyone who ever gets pregnant and has their doctor tell them that they are going to "strip your membranes," say NO! Literally, one of the most painful things I have ever been through and my doctor should be happy I am still talking to him. My question is, do I have to pay for that visit? That would certainly be unfair, he practically accosts me and I have to pay for it? Not right! I'll post pictures of my largeness in the next couple of days. Rob seems a little too excited to take the final belly pictures of me. Maybe he wants to embarrass me after all the things I have stated on this blog that have embarrassed him. I guess it's fair.

What I'm Reading

  • Dr. Seuss: Horton Hears a Who
Because I'm a mommy and who am I to deprive her of Dr. Seuss.
  • John Grisham: The Innocent Man
A true story about a man convicted of a crime he didn't commit. Gripping and terrifying.
  • Khaled Hosseini: The Kite Runner
I've already read A Thousand Splendid Suns by the same author but have not read the Kite Runner. I've heard it is even more amazing than Splendid Suns so I am looking forward to beginning it.

What I'm Listening To

  • Colbie Caillat -

    Colbie Caillat: Coco
I just purchased this CD after it was reviewed on a local radio station the other day. Easily, one of the best CDs I have purchased in a long time.
