One tooth, two teeth, three teeth, four!

Okay, well we are technically still waiting for three and four but our girl has her two bottom teeth. They came in within days of eachother and she's completely enamored with her new hardware. Avery is constantly doing the "I don't have my dentures in" look and is gnawing everything in sight, her favorite still being dill pickles. Here is a look at her two new teeth, just click on the picture to enlarge and you should be able to see them. Don't mind her mop of hair on her head, it was the end of the day and she's looking a little rough. But cute,,, always cute!

In other news, we all went to Las Vegas for a little bit of a getaway. As I said in an earlier post, Rob's parents were down there and it was great to be able to spend some time with them! They loved seeing the girl, so much so that they pretty much threw us out of their RV when we got there and and said, "go gamble, and don't come back for two days!" Wow, I guess they are a bit bossy, eh? Only when it comes to their granddaughter and they are definitely allowed to be. I told Rob after a few hours alone that we had to go back to the RV park because I wanted to make sure the RV was even there still,,, it's never a smart thing to leave your daughter with grandparents that have a virtual hotel room on wheels! I was surprised they didn't take off on us and hold our girl for ransom! We had a great time and even though we didn't win any money the trip was definitely worth it for some well deserved R&R. Here are a few pictures of Avery in our hotel room and a restaurant that I thought were cute. The girl is a down right poser when the camera comes out!

And finally here are a couple of shots from today. She has so much fun playing with all her toys now that she is sitting up so well by herself. She is so close to crawling and it scares me to think about how active she will be when the day finally comes when she realizes that her knees can help propel her around to where she wants to go! She loves grabbing on to hair and pulling as hard as she can as you can see in the picture with her dad, but we'll forgive her. It's phenomenal to see how much she learns every day, and a huge pleasure!

The Good Stuff

There are moments in life that makes you realize how wonderful your life is, here are a few of mine that I captured this week. I love my life!

For some reason her diaper looks like a bikini diaper but she can pull it off,,, remember, she's a trend-setter. You'll see her on Project Runway 2030.

She'll either be on Project Runway or at a nudist camp. Her favorite outfit is a diaper.

The girl loves her Grandma almost as much as her Grandma loves her.

Like father, like daughter.

The only thing that can explain this picture is,,, She's eating solids, people! You figure it out!

Vacation!!!

Rob and I have decided we don't get out enough for little getaways, especially since Avery has been born. We thought it was a HUGE deal that we got out last weekend for the day and went to the driving range to hit some balls and then took a leisurely drive through the canyons - why did we not hike the canyons you ask? Well, it was 103 degrees that day and we were already hot enough from hitting some golf balls so we didn't think it very smart to go hiking around unfamiliar terrain. Or we're just lazy, you decide.

We have now decided to take our adventure one step further than just going to the golf course and are actually going on a road trip to Vegas! How excited am I you ask? I couldn't be more excited unless Publisher's Clearing House showed up at my front door to give me a check for a million dollars. That would simply add to the excitement because then I wouldn't have to worry about how much money I could gamble away. The nice thing about this trip is I won't have to worry about being away from Avery for an extended period of time because Rob's parents are going to be in Vegas at that time as well and have offered free babysitting services! How lucky are we? We'll be heading out next week and I am so excited I have already started to plan what I am going to wear. How sad is that? I used to travel 21 days out of every month for my job and when I did have days off I would usually travel to some global destination for a nice little holiday. I didn't think that I would ever stop traveling to the extent that I have, but having a child will do that to you. Yes, having a child will get you excited about going to Vegas.

What I'm Reading

  • Dr. Seuss: Horton Hears a Who
Because I'm a mommy and who am I to deprive her of Dr. Seuss.
  • John Grisham: The Innocent Man
A true story about a man convicted of a crime he didn't commit. Gripping and terrifying.
  • Khaled Hosseini: The Kite Runner
I've already read A Thousand Splendid Suns by the same author but have not read the Kite Runner. I've heard it is even more amazing than Splendid Suns so I am looking forward to beginning it.

What I'm Listening To

  • Colbie Caillat -

    Colbie Caillat: Coco
I just purchased this CD after it was reviewed on a local radio station the other day. Easily, one of the best CDs I have purchased in a long time.
