« Oh Yes I Can! | Main | Another reason I love Fall »

September 26, 2007

Just to let y'all know...

I'm running my first official 5k race on Saturday. This Saturday. The Saturday which is Sep. 29th. Aaaaaahhhhhhh!

I wasn't planning on running my first 5k until Oct. 20th but I was looking online last night and noticed there is a 5k race to benefit a local theatre being held on Saturday. Usually that wouldn't have caught my interest but the fact that the race is being run on the trail I regularly train on is a bit too hard to pass up. How great is this? I get to run my first 5k on my "home turf!" It's a trail I know I can run and even better than that is the fact it starts at the opposite end I usually start out on, meaning there isn't a huge uphill portion. The majority of it will either be flat or on a steady decline!

I'm excited and also a bit nervous. I can do this. I can do this. I can do this. You've all just read what I will be telling myself every inch of the three miles I will be running.

Oh WOW! :) You can totally do it - (in fact, you've already done it) you will be just fine! Have fun! I'll be thinking of you. (p.s. It's totally addicting, and I am looking for one to do at the end of October)

I'm really really proud of you. You are such an inspiration.I've read about people who go from not exercising much to running - and loving it, but I always thought "Yeah right, sure you do!" reaching for another donut... but you've done it! I'll be thinking about you on saturday and in the spring, when I will finally be allowed to do some sort of exercising of that level (well December actually but we're set for a snowy winter here so - no!) I'm expecting you to be my e-training coach OK?

And what's Coco's music like??? Who would be the closest to her - someone I may have heard of???

What I'm Reading

  • Dr. Seuss: Horton Hears a Who
Because I'm a mommy and who am I to deprive her of Dr. Seuss.
  • John Grisham: The Innocent Man
A true story about a man convicted of a crime he didn't commit. Gripping and terrifying.
  • Khaled Hosseini: The Kite Runner
I've already read A Thousand Splendid Suns by the same author but have not read the Kite Runner. I've heard it is even more amazing than Splendid Suns so I am looking forward to beginning it.

What I'm Listening To

  • Colbie Caillat -

    Colbie Caillat: Coco
I just purchased this CD after it was reviewed on a local radio station the other day. Easily, one of the best CDs I have purchased in a long time.
