This Girl is a Genius

Rob, Avery and I attended a surprise 60th birthday party for a close family friend last night. Our friend's ten year old granddaughter, Jess,  was there and was completely smitten by Avery. They played together the entire night -  I should probably rephrase that and say Jess manhandled Avery  like she was her own personal doll. Avery LOVED every minute of it and rewarded Jess with lots of kisses! I was close by the entire night but needed Rob to take over parenting duties for a few minutes so I could get something to eat. During the time I was away, this is part of the conversation Rob had with Jess.

Jess: Are you the father?

Rob: Yes I am.

Jess: You and your wife made a really cute kid.

Rob: Uh,,, thank you.

I couldn't agree with Jess more.

She is absolutely gorgeous. And who can blame Jess? Avery Looks like a china doll! Although I'm sure she's more robust!

BY the way, what did you choose for the September book club?

she is a cutie. she reminds me of rapunzel with all her golden hair.

and i'm still listening to colbie caillat. now she's on the radio.

she's EVERYWHERE

bubbly is ok but i like oxygen better

Hey Lins! I decided to have the book club read 19 Minutes by Jodi Picoult. It is NOT an uplifting book, but has an amazing amount of conversation topics to cover, especially since all of the women in our group are moms or work with children. It was an amazing, gripping book that had me thinking the entire time.
Jen, I LOVE the Colby Caillat CD, I actually found it because I was listening to the radio and they did a preview of her entire album. It's just a great CD to throw on and relax and enjoy a nice dinner. I'm so glad you took the suggestion and am happy it was worth your money! Ok, now I feel like the girl's agent, maybe I should ask her for a job?

What I'm Reading

  • Dr. Seuss: Horton Hears a Who
Because I'm a mommy and who am I to deprive her of Dr. Seuss.
  • John Grisham: The Innocent Man
A true story about a man convicted of a crime he didn't commit. Gripping and terrifying.
  • Khaled Hosseini: The Kite Runner
I've already read A Thousand Splendid Suns by the same author but have not read the Kite Runner. I've heard it is even more amazing than Splendid Suns so I am looking forward to beginning it.

What I'm Listening To

  • Colbie Caillat -

    Colbie Caillat: Coco
I just purchased this CD after it was reviewed on a local radio station the other day. Easily, one of the best CDs I have purchased in a long time.
