Sickness: Part Deux

Okay, so let's get the obvious out of the way first. I'm a liar. I didn't come back the next day and talk about how wonderful my holidays were and how amazing my family is. But there's a reason, really.

It seems that right after I hit 'publish' on my previous post, I jinxed myself. I am now in the throws of morning sickness and all day nausea. There is good news though,,, It's not as bad as last time (knocking on wood.) There's also bad news, my family is starving. The smell of something cooking in my kitchen sends me over the edge and Rob and Avery have now been subjected to a diet of takeout or odorless edibles. So okay, they're not starving but they are definitely not getting any home cooking. The sad thing is Avery seems perfectly okay with this. Who would be sad to be living on a diet of cookies, cheese and crackers? Not my girl.

So, I will be back to post something of more substance, but this time I'm not going to say when. I just can't seem to stick to a deadline.

Sickness

By the title of this post you would think I was speaking of morning sickness due to my recent announcement. Surprisingly, I am feeling phenomenal! Everybody else in my house? Not so much. The stomach flu has hit our home and thank goodness I don't have any morning sickness yet because I don't think I would be able to clean up after Rob and Avery without constantly running for the toilet myself. The stomach flu can only be described with one word - disgusting.

The good news is that today everyone seems to be back to their old selves and I now get to return to my daily rigamarole (I've always wanted to use that word! Is it a word?) I am going to update the blog tomorrow with a recap of all the craziness that was the holidays and to gush over how blessed we are. We really do have an amazing life,,, even if the stomach flu does hit our home once in a while.

Guess What!!!

Lilypie Expecting a baby Ticker

We discovered this on New Year's Eve! Needless to say, I did not get to drink the wine at the Wine and Cheese Tasting party we went to. But on the bright side, Rob and I didn't have to fight over who was going to be designated driver!

What I'm Reading

  • Dr. Seuss: Horton Hears a Who
Because I'm a mommy and who am I to deprive her of Dr. Seuss.
  • John Grisham: The Innocent Man
A true story about a man convicted of a crime he didn't commit. Gripping and terrifying.
  • Khaled Hosseini: The Kite Runner
I've already read A Thousand Splendid Suns by the same author but have not read the Kite Runner. I've heard it is even more amazing than Splendid Suns so I am looking forward to beginning it.

What I'm Listening To

  • Colbie Caillat -

    Colbie Caillat: Coco
I just purchased this CD after it was reviewed on a local radio station the other day. Easily, one of the best CDs I have purchased in a long time.
