Waste Not, Want Not?

I went to the grocery store yesterday with a very detailed list of items I needed for dinner recipes for the week. I had been disgusted earlier in the day because when I cleaned out my fridge I threw out a ridiculous amount of food that had went off. I'd like to think this isn't because we're thoughtless, it's because the way I have been feeling hasn't allowed me the ability to do much cooking and then the food, which I had the best of intentions on cooking, just goes to waste. With the turnaround I've been feeling in the last couple of weeks I have vowed to cook every night this week (even if it's just pancakes) and I will use everything I bought at the grocery store. I've taken this mission so seriously that I decided to eat eight of the Oreos I bought in one fell swoop. Oreos don't go bad, you say? Good to know. I can honestly say I haven't had an Oreo in a good two years, in fact, I can count on one hand how many times I've bought Oreos in my entire life. When I entered the store yeaterday they had a big rack of these cookies on sale for $1.99, I have no idea if this is a good price but I thought, yeah, those sound pretty good for some reason. The reason? They ARE good, so good that I will now make it my mission to eat them all and never bring another package of them in my house again,,, I can't throw them away, that would be wasteful and I'm not doing that anymore, remember?

After you finish off the bag, I'd like you to post a picture of your teeth!

i don't know if you know this....but i dearly love oreos and in honor of my month of lists.......

1) 1.99 is a good deal
2) double stuff or regular
3) it is a SIN to throw oreos away
4) it is a sin to eat them without milk in which to dunk them
5) if you have leftover oreos DO NOT throw them away. you can pack them up and send them to me. i promise you i will give them a good home!!!

I'm not a big oeros fan but Steve and Jess love them. Hitherto we have only been able to get them from American friends on base but shops here have started to sell them, and not only that but handy sized tubs of mini ones so you can pig out while on the go. My friend, i have three packs of orange club biscuits for you here. You must let me have your address. Email me!

That should have read OREOs!!!

What I'm Reading

  • Dr. Seuss: Horton Hears a Who
Because I'm a mommy and who am I to deprive her of Dr. Seuss.
  • John Grisham: The Innocent Man
A true story about a man convicted of a crime he didn't commit. Gripping and terrifying.
  • Khaled Hosseini: The Kite Runner
I've already read A Thousand Splendid Suns by the same author but have not read the Kite Runner. I've heard it is even more amazing than Splendid Suns so I am looking forward to beginning it.

What I'm Listening To

  • Colbie Caillat -

    Colbie Caillat: Coco
I just purchased this CD after it was reviewed on a local radio station the other day. Easily, one of the best CDs I have purchased in a long time.
