... When No One Else is Watching

Have you ever?

Have you ever just had an overwhelming moment where you feel grateful? Right now is one of those moments for me.

I may not be rich or look like a supermodel but I'm the owner of so much more than money or fabulous looks. I have a husband who loves me for who I am, which is a miracle in itself. We have two little girls who are our world and fill us with a tremendous amount of joy... so much joy that just thinking of them makes my heart feel like it's going to explode. Family and friends that I don't think I would survive the day without. Health. Happiness. Joy.

I truly feel so blessed.

Channeling Julia

This evening I made Julia Child's recipe for Beef Bourguignon. How classically cliche of me right? Go to see the movie and then have the desire to cook the main dish the movie focuses on most. Yep, right up my alley. When I told Rob what I was going to cook for dinner last night this is how the conversation went.

Jen: "I'm going to make Julia Child's Beef Bourguignon recipe tomorrow night for dinner! Aren't you excited?!"

Rob: "Beef what?"

Jen: "Beef Bourguignon! How can you not know what I'm talking about?"

Rob: "Um, I don't even know how to pronounce the dish, let alone know what it is. But SURE, I'm excited!"

Jen: "Yeah, whatever... you just totally killed my buzz!"

Even though Rob didn't know what Beef Bourguignon was yesterday, he definitely knows what it is today. I can absolutely tell you that this dish did not disappoint. The kids both ate it and my mom also came over to enjoy... such a hit! And now you are probably wondering where the picture is of my piece de resistance, right? Well, because I was so happy to finish the dish and so hungry, we just dug right in and didn't even take a photo. It was that good!
